______________________________________

On June 29th, I announced my latest challenge; I wanted to knock much larger competitor out of a number one organic spot. I chose those keywords for a specific reason, Crownpeak is using them to package and differentiate their solution.

Google re-indexed over the weekend and picked up the transcript of the video as a descriptor . Here are the latest rankings:

Google results for content marketing platform here. Number 2 spot and updated description.
(As of 8/22/2010 Site was number 3,4 & 10th organic.)

Yahoo results for content marketing platform here. Number 1 spot and updated description.

Bing results for content marketing platform here. Number 1 spot and updated description**

**As of 8/22/2010. I have been knocked off of the first page. I will work on replacement this week.

I have begun to dig on why Google™ is not indexing the site, it might be as simple, but if it were that simple, I am not sure Bing and Yahoo would be picking it up. More to follow on this conundrum soon. Sleep tight!

Web site subtitle effects click through rate, so its important to fix it. But not important enough to keep me from my plans for a four day weekend! Over and out from Essex Junction, VT. Happy Fourth of July.

Experiment 2 – content marketing platform.

Today, I made a 5 minute video and transcript. I also sent out the following tweet announcing the site:

Here is what the site looks like today:

It’s not really fancy and I need to do some color scheme changes, but we are not looking to win a beauty contest at this point. We are looking to show up on Google Orgainc for the term “content marketing platform.” Overnight Google™ results repositioned. There was a shake-up on the first page and because of my multiple inquires, more ads starting popping in, in particular those around “content marketing.” Did you know your actions at search and what are you are searching for influences the results?

Total time spent, 180 minutes, elapsed time 2 days.

Today, I challenged myself to get another site #1 Google organic for the term “content marketing platform.” At the moment that spot is held by CrownPeak. It is a very specific term, probably an analyst firm dubbed it. Could the only value be self pride and the joy of knocking a 500 pound gorilla out of the top spot?

The site is a migration from an older html template. I will be moving to WP/Thesis.
